President Jacob Zuma says that there has been no evidence of corruption or fraud found by the Commission of Inquiry into the arms deal arranged by the government in the late 1990's arms deal.

1. The 35th Ordinary meeting of the Summit of the Heads of State and Government of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) was held at the Gaborone International Convention Centre in Gaborone, Republic of Botswana on 17th and 18th August 2015.

2. H.E. Robert Mugabe delivered a Keynote address and officially opened the Summit.

The Minister of Police has noted the reports of court action by 37 families of the affected mineworkers of the Marikana tragedy that took place on August 16, 2012.

Though the Minister has not yet seen the court papers, he believes that this is one of the actions that bring closure to this sad chapter in the history of our country.

The Minister of Social Development, Ms Bathabile Dlamini, will on Thursday 25 June, receive the South African child (14) and youth (20) being repatriated from Malawi.

The child and youth from Mpumalanga Province are orphans who were removed from the care of their grandmother to Malawi in July 2014 by a woman who posed as a former teacher.

South Africa has condemned the imposition of sanctions against Iran, saying the sanctions are irrational and illegal.

"South Africa has always spoken out against the language of threats and coercion, including the unilateral sanctions that have been unfairly and unjustly imposed to single out the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Saudi Arabia continues to enjoy a huge trade surplus of R 72.6 billion against South Africa. This was said by the Minister of Trade and Industry, Dr Rob Davies. He was speaking at the 6th session of the South Africa/Saudi Arabia Joint Economic Commission (JEC) held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia today. JEC is co-chaired by Davies and his Saudi counterpart Dr Twafeeq Al Rabeeach.

President Jacob Zuma has arrived in China where he is leading a delegation of ministers and businesspeople on a State visit aimed at strengthening bilateral relations, the Presidency said on Tuesday.

The two-day visit, scheduled for Thursday and Friday, signals a further consolidation of South African-Sino relations.

Cape Town - Given the abhorrent crisis in Ukraine, brought about by the support of Moscow under the leadership of Russian President Vladimir Putin and Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov of the pro-Russian rebel forces,who spuriously deny their involvement in the destructive conflict in Eastern Ukraine, one has to ask, how can any nation trust Putin’s Russia?

BENTIU, SOUTH SUDAN — A team from the Danish Demining Group (DDG), which works with the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS), earlier this week deactivated a rocket-propelled grenade that was found in the capital city of Unity state.

More unexploded ordnances were found near army barracks, said Cons Wani, a member of the DDG demining team.

Oscar Pistorius, the Paralympic star accused of murder, held a personal memorial service on Tuesday night to honour Reeva Steenkamp, the girlfriend he shot dead at his home in what he claims was an accident.

The service took place at the home of his uncle Arnold, where the South African has been staying since he was released on bail awaiting trial.
