Algeria, Benin Decide to Give New Impetus to Their Bilateral Relations
Algeria and Benin decided to give a "new impetus" to their bilateral relations and strengthen their cooperation in several fields, said Tuesday in Algiers Benin's President Thomas Boni Yayi who is on a State visit to Algeria.
"We have decided to start a new momentum in our bilateral relations," said Beninese President at the end of his talks with President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika.
It concerns the fields of maritime and air transport, electricity, petroleum, supplying Benin with gas as well as academic cooperation, he added.
"President Bouteflika promised to ensure further growth of Algerian-Beninese cooperation," he added.
Benin's president emphasized the "leadership" role that Algeria is playing in Africa, calling to highlight "the vision of President Bouteflika" concerning a new governance at the continental level.
