Cabo Verdean President Stops Over in Angola From South Africa
The President of Cabo Verde, Jorge Carlos Fonseca, arrived on Tuesday in Luanda, in transit to his country, after attending the 25th Summit of the African Union (AU), held on 14-15 June in South Africa.
At the Luanda's "4 de Fevereiro" International Airport, Jorge Carlos Fonseca, who is stopping over in the country for 48 hours, did not speak to the press and was welcomed by the Construction minister, Valdemar Pires and diplomats.
The AU summit took place under the theme "Year of Women Empowerment and Development towards Africa's Agenda 2063".
The 24th AU Summit was held last January, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Angola was represented by a delegation, led by the Defense minister, João Gonçalves Lourenço, in representation of the Angolan Head of State, José Eduardo dos Santos.
