Former coach of the Ghana Black Stars Herbert Addo is expected to be laid to rest on Saturday, APA learns here. The coach, who died in March, is expected to be buried in Accra on Saturday. Addo had coached some prominent Ghanaian teams such as AshantiGold, Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Accra Hearts of Oak and the WAFA Club, which is currently leading the Ghana Premier League table. He had on two occasions handled the senior national team as substantive and caretaker coach respectively. The soccer fraternity in Accra are gearing up to pay their last respect to the coach, who won three straight league titles with AshantiGold from 1990-1993.

The Black Stars of Ghana are expected to leave Accra for the United States of America to play two international friendly matches in a row, APA learns here. The players are expected to play Mexico next week and USA on July 1 respectively. Pescara midfielder Sulley Muntari's one-match ban for leaving the pitch in protest at racial abuse has been overturned, the Italian football federation (FIGC) said on Friday. The Ghanaian walked off just before the end of last Sunday's Serie A game at Cagliari after angrily confronting home fans, claiming to have been racially abused before being booked. The 32-year-old received an automatic one-match suspension following his dismissal as he was initially booked for dissent, before receiving a second yellow for leaving the field.
