Ghana: 100 Christians to embark on pilgrimage to Israel
Ghana’s Ministry of Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs has initiated a programme to facilitate the pilgrimage of 100 Christians from Accra to holy land of Israel next month, APA learns here.
The sector Minister, Kofi Dzamesi, who disclosed this at a press launch in Accra on Thursday, said his ministry was in talks with the Israeli Embassy in Ghana to agree on certain key elements to ensure a successful pilgrimage.
He explained that given a big quota, the event could be established on the Ghanaian events calendar to ensure a well-organised activity.
Mr. Dzamesi stated that would-be pilgrims have to solely bear the total cost of $2,700 per head.
Minister of Information, Mustapha Hamid, said government was interested in creating an enabling atmosphere for various religions to thrive.
