Algeria, Equatorial Guinea Enjoy 'Excellent Relations'
President of Equatorial Guinea Obiang Nguema Mbasogo underlined Sunday, in Algiers, that Algeria and Equatorial Guinea enjoy "excellent relations," that should be further strengthened.
"Algeria and Equatorial Guinea enjoy excellent relations and we are here to work to further strengthen, enrich and diversify them," said President Mbasogo at the end of his talks with President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika.
"We are interested in the field of gas and it is more particularly in this regard that we want to strengthen the cooperation with Algeria which possesses a long experience in the exploitation of gas," he said.
President Mbasogo said that he had "very fruitful" discussions with the different Algerian officials, adding that he broached the possibility of signing a framework agreement which will "open cooperation and partnership prospects in several fields" between the two countries.
"We also invited the Algerian businessmen to invest in Equatorial Guinea where the business climate is completely favourable for this kind of projects and exchanges," he added.
President Mbasogo added that he broached international issues of common interest, particularly those relating to peace and security in Africa, wishing to benefit from the Algerian experience in this field.
