Pupils join protests over Langata land grab

Mon, 01/19/2015 - 12:09 -- Henri Ahyite

The pupils and activists pulled down a perimeter wall and gate built on the disputed land.

Police lobbed tear gas canisters at activists and Langata Road Primary School pupils who were protesting the grabbing of the institution’s playground.

The protests took place even as Lands Cabinet Secretary Charity Ngilu finally broke her silence and indeed confirmed that the disputed piece of land belongs to the School.

The pupils had joined the activists in protesting the grabbing of their land by a private developer where the protesters pulled down a perimeter wall and gate built on the disputed land before the children started to play on the field.
