Angola and Mozambique Sign Investment Promotion Agreement
An agreement for promotion and protection of investment and a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the field of industry were signed Monday in Luanda between Angola and Mozambique.
The first instrument was signed by the ministers of Foreign Affairs of Angola, Georges Chikoti, and of Mozambique, Oldemiro Baloi.
The head of the Mozambican diplomacy also signed the second agreement with the Angolan ministry of Industry, Bernarda Gonçalves Martins Henriques da Silva.
Both legal instruments were signed on the occasion of the state visit of the President of Mozambique, Filipe Jacinto Nyusi, to Angola since Sunday, for the strengthening of friendship and cooperation relations between the two countries.
Speaking to the press after the ceremony, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Angola, Georges Chikoti highlighted the importance of the relations between the two countries, which has resulted in the signing of 22 agreements and a memorandum of understanding.
"This morning, the heads of state recommended that we might stimulate other sectors to be able to do much more, so we have signed the memorandum in the field of industry to facilitate the deepening of relations", he said.
The minister announced that in the near future it will be signed an agreement on visa facilitation, which will add up to the existing suppression of visas in diplomatic and official passports.
"With the facilitation of visas in ordinary passports, I think we will continue to foster a good environment for entrepreneurs of both countries", stressed the minister.
He also referred to the agreement signed between Angola airlines (TAAG) and LAM from Mozambique with a view to accelerating the promotion of business and cooperation between the two states.
