Angola, Namibia Outline Cargo Transshipment Strategies
Customs and Police authorities of Angola and Namibia outlined Monday in Ondjiva, southern Cunene province, the transshipment strategies of merchandise and creation of visa for foreign nationals
This was said by the head of Customs supervision of the General Tax Administration.
Aníbal Vuma told the press that the strategy is meant to enhance coordination of border management.
The initiative is also intended to define common shipment strategies of merchandise and allow the South African citizens working in the transport sector to transit through the territory.
On the other hand, Vuma said that currently the cargo for Angola, coming from Namibia and South Africa, transshipped in Namibian territory causes many problems to national economy.
"These transfers are likely to cause various illegal activities, especially smuggling of goods that used to cause loss of revenue to the State coffers," he said.
Aníbal Vuma said that the customs Park of Santa Clara has a capacity to accommodate 200 trucks and technical material for this activity.
