Cunene - Angola and Namibia Fight Crime on Common Border

The police forces of Cunene province (Angola) and the regions of Ohangwena and Omusati (Namibia), carried on 23-26 April the first phase of joint operation "Omuhanga" to prevent and combat border crime.

According to the report of the referred operation that reached Angop on Monday, it was engaged forces linked to various organs of the Interior delegation in Cunene and Nampol (Namibian Police), and it was held operative actions of auto-patrolling on foot, motorbike and mobile barriers along the border strip, as well as in neighboring areas.

Joint visits of assessing the degree of readiness of the forces deployed in the common border and border checkpoints along the landmark 1 to 23, cells of police stations of Namacunde (Angola) and Outapi, Tsandy, Okahao and Ruacana were also targets of the operation.
