Central African Republic: Afrobasket 2015 - Algeria, Senegal, Central African Republic Awarded Wild Cards
FIBA Africa Central Board said Thursday that the three recipients of wild cards to take part in the AfroBasket 2015, to take place in Tunisia next August, are Algeria, Central African Republic (CAF) and Senegal.
Algerian team's coach, Ali Fillali, told APS that the recipient of the wild card is required to pay EUR60.000 and provide a written commitment that all national team's matches be broadcasted on national TV.
Algeria, Central African Republic (CAF) and Senegal are the last to join the teams (16) competing in the continental tournament to be held in Nabeul, Tunisia, in August 19-30.
In addition to the recently qualified countries, the list of the competing countries is made up of Tunisia (host country), Angola (title holder), Egypt, Ivory Coast, Cameroon, Mali, Morocco, Nigeria, Mozambique, Gabon, Cape Verde, Uganda and Zimbabwe.
The three wild-card recipients will know their groups at a drawing lots ceremony on Saturday, May 9.
