1. The 35th Ordinary meeting of the Summit of the Heads of State and Government of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) was held at the Gaborone International Convention Centre in Gaborone, Republic of Botswana on 17th and 18th August 2015.
2. H.E. Robert Mugabe delivered a Keynote address and officially opened the Summit.
Following the conclusion of the 9th meeting of President Edgar Chagwa Lungu’s Cabinet yesterday, a number of key issues were adopted, including the creation of six new constituencies, as recommended by the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ), which are aimed at addressing problems arising from districts residing in multiple constituencies.

Over the last month Zambia has witnessed another death of a sitting President and wrangles over succession in both the two largest political parties. In addition, we have witnessed probably one of the most absurd political acts that would never arise in any other democracy. This absurd act has involved Hon Edgar Lungu who was left as Acting President and Hon Guy Scott the Vice President.
The Psalmist said, “I would have lost heart unless I had believed I would live to see the Lord`s goodness in the land of the living.” There is always hope as long as there is life. However, death happens, and we are all born to die. The only thing that we bequeath to posterity is the legacies we left, for better or worse. President Michael Sata is dead, and may his soul rest well in peace.

Oscar Pistorius, the Paralympic star accused of murder, held a personal memorial service on Tuesday night to honour Reeva Steenkamp, the girlfriend he shot dead at his home in what he claims was an accident.
The service took place at the home of his uncle Arnold, where the South African has been staying since he was released on bail awaiting trial.
