Zambian President to Visit Angola
The new president of Zambia, Edgar Lundu, is starting on Friday an official visit to Angola, aimed at strengthening the co-operation between both countries, the director for Africa and Middle-East of the Foreign Affairs Ministry (MIREX), Joaquim Espírito Santo, informed last Tuesday.
Speaking to the press, in the ambit of the Sixth Consultative Council of MIREX, held last Tuesday, the diplomat explained that the visit of the Zambian president will serve for the statesman to discuss with his Angolan counterpart, José Eduardo dos Santos, matters of regional and international interest.
He also revealed that Angola is the first country to be visited by Edgar Lundu since he was elected as president, last January.
"This visit happens in the ambit of the bilateral relations. Zambia is a neighbouring and brother country, and the two peoples are also connected by blood ties", he emphasised.
